龍的傳奇—苗栗火旁龍介紹 |

『火旁龍』就是用鞭炮炸龍，早年農業社會，苗栗地區為求來年豐收發展出結合地方廟會慶祝活動的獨特地方民俗。儘管台灣各地皆有各種與龍相關之民俗活動，但惟獨苗栗客家發展出『炸龍』的習俗。延傳至今火旁龍活動不僅儀式更為考究，也經過許多專家、學者的研究而內容更為豐富，僅管台灣已經邁向知識經濟的社會，然而透過政府主辦機關的規劃，火旁龍活動已經成為結合傳統文化、地方特色與區域資源成為具有國際性觀光活動的重要指標。 |

『糊龍』－由龍主取材製龍，於元宵節前完成。

苗栗火旁龍已與鹽水蜂炮、平溪天燈同為台灣元宵節之三大活動。苗栗舉辦『火旁龍』至今已邁入第十年，每年主辦單位精心策劃各式傻龍活動。期望將此客家民俗活動廣為宣傳，讓國內甚至國外友人，深入了解客家文物、客家工藝、客家美食、客家產業與濃濃的客家情。
